By creating an account or paying an invoice, you agree to these terms. Plain English; questions are answered fastest by opening a ticket from your dashboard if you have an account, or by emailing admin@medianest.stream if you don't.
What You're Getting
A private server (we call it a "Nest") with media apps pre-installed and ready to go. You connect your own accounts (your Plex login, your indexer keys, etc.) and bring your own files.
We don't provide media. We don't share content. Your Nest is empty when we hand it to you.
Your Account
- Keep your password to yourself.
- One account per person. Don't resell access.
- Use a real email. We need a way to reach you about your account.
What's Not Allowed
A few things will get your Nest shut down:
- Anything illegal where our servers live (Canada).
- Attacks on other people or systems.
- Reselling MediaNest as your own service.
- Hogging the shared servers in ways that hurt other customers.
- Repeated, serious copyright complaints aimed at the same Nest.
We don't read what's in your Nest. We don't scan your media. We only act on specific reports.
Plex and Other Apps
We install the software. You sign into your own accounts. Plex's own terms apply when you use Plex; same for any other app. If Plex ever stops working with our setup, we'll help you switch to Jellyfin, which has no such restrictions.
Uptime
We aim to keep your Nest online all the time, but stuff happens. Planned maintenance gets announced in advance. If we're down for more than a day because of something on our end, you get a credit. See Refunds.
Canceling
You can cancel any time from your dashboard. Your Nest stays online through whatever period you've paid for, then it shuts down. Refund timing is on the Refund page.
We can suspend a Nest that breaks the rules above or has overdue invoices for more than a few days.
Your Stuff Is Your Stuff
You own everything you put on your Nest. We don't claim any rights. We don't sell anything. We don't keep copies of your media, so back up anything you care about.
When you cancel, your Nest's data is deleted within two weeks.
The Boring Legal Bits
MediaNest is provided as-is. We're not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits, or things outside our control. Anything you might claim against us is capped at what you paid us in the past year. None of this overrides protections you have under Canadian consumer law.
These terms can change. Big changes get emailed to active customers 30 days ahead of time. We're based in Canada, and these terms are governed by the laws of Quebec.
